Kannu Nattu Kathirunnittum - M Jayachandran Strikes
Today I am going to present before you a song composed by one of the brilliant music directors of the young generation , Shri M Jayachandran. With his strong classical background, he has proved to be a versatile music director who can compose virtually any type of song. He is a brilliant singer too. Any music lover would love to hear his brilliant rendition 'Rakkili Than Vazhi Marayum' from the film Perumazhakkalam. He is the one of the main anchors of the popular show 'Ragotsavam' in 'Kairali Television' along with Kaavalam Srikumar.
The song is 'Kannu Nattu Kathirunnittum' from the film 'Kadhavasheshan' directed by T V Chandran. This is a great composition and anyone would like this song in the first place. The song stands out for it's simplicity and powerful expressions. This song definitely reminds us of the golden era of Malayalam music, especially M S Baburaj.

I have not listened to the original. But I dont think that will change my opinon about the measure of the melody because you have sung it very well. Honestly, I did not find this song anywhere near Baburaj's classics. It lacks the impact factor that the greats like Baburaj packed in their melodies.

I dint mean any comparison here.I just meant the way in which, may be the instruments are used and style of the song. I dint even think about anything else. In my opinion now a days its very difficult to see these type of songs.
At the same time I personally feel very much that M Jayachandran is a real talent and as Pradip said earlier, he is one of the promise for Malayalam music Industry.

Murali Ramanathan,
I do respect MJ as he is a fantastic singer and talent. But I in my humble opinion he still has not touched the melodic maxima that the old mallu greats have achived. His song likeakale akale show his true potential for scaling such peaks although.

Murali. Excellent singing! I wonder why Perumvavoor Raveendranath sir has not used your voice for one of his films!
Just one suggestion. While singing try to pronounce the words more brightly. It will add more depth to your voice. your voice gels perfectly with the tune and mood of the song.

One more suggestion. Just a technical one. Please turn off the automatic playing of the pickle players. When your blog opens all the players (all songs) on your blog start playing automatically and downloading to the cache making it difficult for the listener as it eats up huge bandwidth and the required song does not play properly.

Murali,
The way you rendered is very soothing to hear. But it appears to be a bit feminine way of recital. You got to gain the majesty of voice to render this kind of songs...Compare Jayettan how he uses the words in proper diction, when u sing "njaanum karanjirunnu.." the swaras are not clearly heard. You rendered it maintaining sruthi, but majesty of voice need to be cultivated. I am being too critical...but want u to be try for 100% perfect. ur strenght is a sweet voice nd mood. u need to work on majesty and diction of letters.

sreejith

Thanks for the comments and encouragement.
Pradip Sir:
I will definitely work on the pronounciation.I will take care of this from my next recording onwards. The other suggestion has been done and I have turned off the automatic playing of pickle player.
Sreejith:
Thanks for the comments and encouragement.I will definitely try to improve on the points that you mentioned.May be there could be some issues for some more songs as I have already recorded some songs for posting.
