Devotional Song on Lord Ayyappa

Today I am presenting a devotional song on 'Lord Sree Ayyappa' on behalf of the beginnning of Sabarimala season known as 'Mandala Pooja' period.Kerala is a land of temples; perhaps the best known pilgrimage destination in Kerala is Sabarimala, high up in the Sahyadri Mountains(western ghats). Sabarimala Sri Dharmasastha Temple is the most famous and prominent among all the Sastha Temples. It is believed that "Parasurama Maharshi" who retrieved Kerala from the sea by throwing his axe, installed the idol of Ayyappa at Sabarimala to worship Lord Ayyappa. The pilgrimage begins in the month of November and ends in January. The temple attracts pilgrims not only from the southern states of India, but also from other parts of the country and abroad. Certain customs are to be strictly observed if one has to undertake a pilgrimage to Sabarimala. A pilgrim attending the Mandalapooja should observe austerities for 41 days.
The song which is being presented today is 'Udichuyarnnoo Mamala Mele'. This song is composed by Sri.Gangai Amaran who is the brother of the legendary musician Sri. Illayaaja. He has scored music for 153 films, directed 22 movies and penned 2000 songs. And more over he is a play back singer who has around five hundred numbes to his credit. All the songs in this album are very popular in Kerala. The golden voice of K J Yesudas along with his sheer devotion and emotion takes everyone to heaven.

Fantastic, Murali - transported to another world! Masterstroke on that initial overlap of "swamiye\ayyappa sharnam" with "udhichuyarnu' - this gave it that original effect.

Hi Mr. Murali,
I am Raveendran from Bangalore. You really performed well in the Idea star singer. I just listened this song and it is beautiful, but only thing i want to add is just use the words properly. Example, "kulichu thozhunnu BHAKTHAR...".
Here your bhakthar is very low. Rest everything is perfect. I wish you all the best...

Makarajyothis and makaravilakku are different. Sabarimal devotees complete their darsan at Sabarimala after seeing Makarajyothi/makaravilakku and they go back home happily. Eventhough few of them, know that the whole thing is a show arranged by the Devaswom Board with a silent nod from the both Communist and Congress Government. The Kerala Police/ Forest Guards/ KSEB cordon the adjacent hill of sabarimala. On the auspicious day, they climb up the hill and make the settings ready for the divine show. They keep ready a huge pile of camphor, wet jute bags etc. When the Shrine sreekovil is opened, they light the pile. Earlier, the time of opening the sreekovil and the lighting of the fire was synchronized by the All India Radio live commentary. Now with mobile phones, it should be much easier. The authorised person gives a call to the police, and they light the pile. The Makarajvilakkui appears! For anyone who is looking from sabarimala it is divine darshan, But makarajyothis star actually shine in the sky. Devotees may please take care of this during next visit. The police cover the fire with wet blankets, intermittently, to give the blinking effect! For more information pl. contact Rahul Easwar ph.98468155555.
SaranaAyyappa.
Bhakthi is dedicating oneself to the Lord. Since it has many forms ,many roads and many types of experience, it is impossible for anyone to describe it accurately and fully. Each bhaktha gets ananda only through his individual experience . Whatever the task on hand whichever be the path, the mind dwells on the goal alone, the goal of attaining the Lord.It flows along a thousand streams ,to reach the ocean of the Lord's grace. The goal of all the forms is the merger of Jiva and Brahma, an absorption which is an experience, and such an experience is the Vritha Bandhanam for Lord Iyyappa devotees.
