Mahaganapathim - Deekshitar Composition

Today I am presenting a Krithi on Lord Ganesh by Muthuswami Dikshitar. Muttuswami Dikshitar is the youngest of the trinity of carnatic music the other two being Tyagaraja and Shyama Shastri. He was the eldest son of Ramaswami Dikshitar who was himself a composer and a scholar. This is a very popular krithi based on Nattai raga which is a janya raga of Chalanatta. Please let me know how you all like this.

WOW!!! Hey Murali why not make your audi blog a classical music special. From my wish list :-

    1. Gopalaka paahimam.
    2. Swaaminaatha paripaalayaasumaam.

    Looking forward for more classicals.

Very well rendered. Charukeshi still stands out tho' :P
An observation: you touch Da2 (as against Da3) in the anupallavi and also in the swarams...
Also, pronunciations: tha's have been pronounced as 'dha's' etc.
I think I've told you this before too- please do consider starting another blog exclusively for carnatic. It sure will be a huge hit! :)

Gambhira Nattai Alapana is so sweet to hear. Your Niraval have become more elaborate compared to ur last charukesi rendition. But make sure at the end of Neraval you complete the word in which you end. Try visiting this site : http://www.maduraisundar.com , an excellent article is there on neraval singing in About Music category.

First time to your blog as well. I have no music knowledge/background. Please consider my comments from the viewpoint of a layman and please excuse inconsistencies, if any.

Firstly, brilliant voice. Very soothing. Clarity/Purity of voice is astonishing. I am unsure if you can understand Tamil but "Pisiru thataadha kural" is what I would call it in Tamil.

Secondly, the rendition is breathtaking. You had me paying rapt attention throughout the song.
Had a very professional touch to it.

Finally, I just would like to humbly request you to pay just a little more attention to phonetical purity. Correct me if I am wrong, but I think its "Mooshika" as opposed to "Mooshiga".

What a fantastic singer you are ! The voice is unmatched, very very refreshing. Would love to hear more of these from you.

    Thank you.
    rc.

Murali: I heard several of your songs on your site. You are at best an average singer - not trying to discourage you. There is not much in your voice or layam to make you distinct. and ucharanam is not really good. focus on your career - singing should be a hobby for you. you won't able to make music a profession

I disagree anonymous, with your view on "you can not make music as a career ... blah blah blah ". Did you see the sweetness of his voice and its range / and its sruthi sudham ? If you are mentioning to the gimmics in the stage , who cares ??? Every singer has his/her own strenght and weekness...And Murali is one who has majority of strenth in bhava based alapanas. What do you mean by average singer ? You compare him with yourself or T M Krishna ???

    Murali--

Judges asked him "Murali Do you deserve this position(Danger zone)".

He suddenly answered "Actually I dont deserve this position, but when compared to the realities of a reality show(?) I may be out".

His answer shocked everyone, and we can watch that from the face of Ranjini. I think iss may edit that part.
He had known his result earlier. So he was not much upset. But Ranjini tried too much to make him cry.

Hehnyways.. u were a nice and decent performer in ISS. May God bless u n ur family!
